This was the replacement aircraft for the “City of New York” – never delivered and sold to Elinor as is. Registration: NR-965-Y, ”Flown by Elinor Smith” beneath cockpit window. Ocean flight not made. See photos on page 247, bottom. 2nd City of New York and than as MRS. ?.
This aircraft was used by Amelia Earhart to fly from Hawaii-Oakland, 11 & 12 JAN 1935

Aircraft owned by Mr. Horrie Miller and was flown by “MacRobertson Miller Airlines” until impressed into RAAF in 1941.  Jimmy Woods was the pilot of the VEGA.
